CINI QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER

July – September, 2019

FROM THE DESK OF DIRECTOR

Dear Friends of CINI,

I would like to share with you that after 45 years since I founded CINI in 1974, I have decided to relinquish my position as Director and hand over to Ms Archana Mukharji, who has taken over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from early September 2019. I will continue to support and mentor Archana as well as rest of my colleagues as Secretary to the Governing Body, not being involved in the day to day running of the organisation. Archana brings with her a rich experience of working with various organisations in Delhi both in private and non profit sector. We welcome Archana and wish her all success in taking CINI forwards as a national level organisation with its rich history of serving deprived children and women for over four decades.

During the period July to September 2019, CINI continued to establish new projects in Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, West Bengal and explore opportunities to establish footholds in North Eastern states. Our colleague from Child Protection Lopamudra Mullick was invited to Beijing in July to present our experience at the Global Leadership Seminar on Child Protection. During this period, we also started to look at non communicable diseases (NCD) among adolescents with support from Arogya World an international NGO (INGO). New partnerships in CSR have been forged with Tata Steel to provide technical assistance to improve malnutrition in Seraikela district of Jharkhand. Our international support groups in Italy, Australia, UK and USA continue their dedicated efforts to raise funds for our projects in India. We look forward to your continued support.
Dr Samir Chaudhuri,
Secretary
