Vision building exercise

In an endeavour to develop the health and nutrition status of pregnant women, a team is created by CINI. The team is entrusted to ensure the registration of pregnant women within first 12 weeks, identification of high risk pregnant women, tracking of monthly body weight at Anganwadi Centre (AWC), spot feeding of Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP) and Iron and Folic Acid (IFA) at AWC, ensuring timely and monthly ante-natal check-ups, tracking of haemoglobin level at Block Primary Health Centre [BPHC], ensuring intake calcium tablets, deworming, hand washing before spot feeding of SNP, look for any danger signs, family counselling for proper care of the pregnant women at home and institutional delivery.

These works can only be conducted if the team is trained properly and possess sound knowledge on all the above said aspects and they have a team spirit within themselves. This was done through Vision Building Exercise conducted by simulation methods focusing on generation of emotional stimulation through activity-based games. Team based performance initiative is for creating a common goal for the team to achieve within a specific time period.

CINI organised this vision building exercise in different places of Diamond harbour like – Fatehpur Gram Panchayat (GP) of Mahamayatala and Battala on 8th and 9th August, Harindanga 2 GP of Paschim Narayani and Puratan Ramgar on 9th and 31st August, Harindanga 1 GP of Talanda and Mulpunja on 8th and 16th August, Baranagar 1 GP of Jafarpur and kashirampur on 13th and 19th August, Debipur GP of Amdali, Bhaganpur and Naskarpur on 13th, 19th and 20th August and Belsingha 1 GP of Dadpur and Malapashulpur on 9th and 16th August.

As an outcome of this vision building exercise:
 A team was built with ASHA, AWW, ANM, family member, pregnant women of first trimester, SHG, and PRI members.
 Spot-feeding of pregnant women at AWCs was ensured
 Continuous tracking of the pregnant women for timely uptake and pregnancy care was done
 Joint home visit with ASHA, AWW and ANM for critical cases.
