Observing World Day Against Trafficking

Human trafficking is a crime that stripe people of their rights, ruins their dreams and robs them from their dignity. The Blue Heart Campaign encourage individuals to involve oneself in the campaign. This campaign spread awareness and inspire individuals to speak up and stand against human trafficking. 30th July is celebrated as World Day against Trafficking. This year, a rally was organised by CINI and CHILDLINE supported by Hummingbird Foundation. The objective of the rally was to spread awareness on trafficking.

The rally covered multiple vulnerable pockets of Mallickpur panchayat of Falta Block and adjacent areas. It was flagged by Panchayet Pradhan, of Mallickpur village. A total number of 250 participants took part in the rally.

In the later part of the day, an awareness programme was conducted at Kheyali Sangha School. The programme started with an inaugural song ‘naba Anande Jago aji/ Naba rabi Kirone’meaning (rise up to a bright happy sunny morning). The Inspector in charge of Falta Police station, Mallickpur Gram Panchayet Pradhan and Secretary were the chief guests.

The chief guests mentioned that Mallickpur Gram Panchyat has 19 functional VLCPCs with quick action taking inspectors. The members of the community and the VLCPC members are now very conscious about child marriages as they support by informing cases to the respective person to prohibit child marriages. The programme ended with beautiful dance performances and recitation by the collective members and Vande Ma Taram song.
