International Women’s Day was celebrated in CINI by acknowledging the contributions of the female workers in the communities as well as office spaces. In Kolkata, the day (8th March) was marked with performances and tokens of appreciations for female staff and community volunteers, who shared their thoughts and experiences regarding equality at workspace. Discussions took place on the good practices maintained by the staff in order to ensure equality at workspace as well as communities where they work, and there were also free-flowing conversations on gender sensitivity and realizations of equal rights for all gender. In Assam, celebration of International Women’s Day spanned over two days – 8th March at Futkibari GaonPanchayat and 10th March at Udmari Part 3B in Raniganj Block, Dhubri district. The days were marked by the presence of adolescents, Front line Workers and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) members. In both the villages PRI along with community members took an oath to protect adolescent girls from child marriage and teenage pregnancy.
