Child Friendly Community (CFC) is an integrated approach whereby nutrition, health, education and protection indicators are improved in children and women, over a designated geographical area. The CFC approach addresses the achievement of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015 in nutrition, health, education and protection. CINI will involve the three main stakeholders responsible for human and social development – namely the community, the local government and the service providers such as government health workers, doctors and teachers by sensitising and building their capacities for improved service delivery. This approach has evolved over the last three decades from CINI’s learning, that vertical programs are not sustainable unless there is integration and community ownership.
