The Adolescent
Resource Centre (ARC) was established in Kolkata in the year 2000.
It is the first Resource Centre for Young People's (10-24 years)
Reproductive and Sexual Health (YRSH) in the eastern region of
India.
ARC
covers the four states of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and
Orissa. The resource centre plans to reach out to the North
Eastern states of India in the near future.

Strategic research is
undertaken to enhance knowledge and understanding of young
people's health issues that will contribute to future
programming and in advocacy of key issues.

Pilot programmes are taken up
to develop and test innovative youth-friendly strategies, best
practices and programme models to address specific issues. More...

CINI ARC works with NGOs and
other agencies to develop, implement, and scale up youth
friendly programmes by providing technical support in
conceptualising and designing programmes, staff training,
developing and strengthening monitoring systems, and enhancing
documentation skills. Resource persons from various divisions of
CINI, CINI ASHA, CCRC and other collaborating partner agencies
are called upon when required.

CINI ARC is responsible for
the documentation of successful
programme models, innovative strategies, and evidence-based
intervention research on young people's issues. These are
available as publications, CDs and diskettes.
|
|
CINI ARC works with NGOs from
all over the country, with government agencies, bilateral and UN
organisations. It also has technical collaboration with
institutions worldwide. Key issues/learnings are disseminated
in the form of advocacy booklets, research briefings as well as
through seminars and workshops.
